Pet hygiene product sample checklist before a trial order

Build one record for every sample

Give each sample a code and record the supplier, product type, material, dimensions, pack count, and date received. Compare the physical sample against the same written specification that will appear on the purchase order.

Photograph the unopened pack, the product after opening, and the carton label. Your team can then identify which version it approved when a supplier sends more than one thickness, fabric, or absorbency option.

Dog poop bag sample checks

Measure bag width and length, confirm the roll count, and compare the stated film thickness. BioPawPet bag options include 15, 18, and 20 micron film; 18 micron is a practical retail starting point, while 20 micron gives a more substantial hand feel.

• Open several bags and check perforation, seal strength, roll winding, and dispenser fit.
• Compare opacity, print position, odor, and how easily the bag separates from the roll.
• Match any compostability statement to the exact certificate holder, product scope, thickness, and mark authorization.

Pet wipe sample checks

Confirm the sheet size, fabric type, GSM, pack count, and pouch construction. Current BioPawPet options include 50gsm bamboo fiber, 50gsm viscose, and 40gsm non-woven fabric. A material name alone does not confirm sheet weight or hand feel.

• Pull sheets from the top, middle, and bottom of the pack to compare moisture distribution.
• Check sheet separation, lint, stretch, surface feel, pouch seal, and closure performance.
• Keep formula, fragrance, preservative, and shelf-life claims tied to the approved product file.

Puppy pad sample checks

Record pad dimensions, dry weight, layer construction, absorbency version, and pack count. BioPawPet sizes range from 33x45cm to 60x90cm, with light, regular, thickened, and high-absorbency options.

Use the same measured liquid volume and waiting time for each comparison. Check spread, surface wetness, edge leakage, backsheet strength, adhesive tabs, and whether the pad stays flat after opening.

Packaging and carton checks

Confirm the retail pack count, barcode area, language, product claims, lot coding position, and carton marks before approving artwork. Ask for the finished carton dimensions, gross weight, case quantity, and packing orientation.

Print a full-size artwork proof when possible. Small text, folds, seals, and hang holes can move after the design leaves a flat screen and becomes a physical pouch or box.

Lock the approved version

Write the approved sample code into the purchase order or approval sheet. Keep one sealed reference sample and a dated photo set. Record any accepted difference between the sample and production specification in writing.
